Short-Term Let In Kirriemuir Approved For Three More Years

As the owner of Auchentinny, a one-bed short-term let property in Cairn Road, Kirriemuir, I’m pleased to announce that the Angus Civic Licensing Committee has granted us a three-year licence. The decision followed a recent hearing, after a neighbour raised concerns. I’m thankful to the committee for their support in allowing us to continue operating Auchentinny.

Why Is This Short-Term Let Special?

I created Auchentinny by converting a garage into a self-contained flat. Originally, I intended the space for use as an office and gym. However, I later decided to turn it into a short-term let, and it has been a success from the start.

The property has attracted hillwalkers and cyclists visiting Kirriemuir. With a 9/10 rating on Booking.com, guests appreciate the quiet atmosphere and scenic location. If you’re curious about other projects I’ve worked on, check out my property projects.

Addressing Concerns About The Short-Term Let

The new legislation for short-term let operators required me to apply for a licence last October. This law ensures that properties meet the necessary standards.

At the hearing, a neighbour expressed concerns about the traffic, as Cairn Road is an unadopted road. They feared that more visitors might cause disruptions. I assured the committee that we’ve taken steps to minimise the impact. We enforce a strict no-party policy, which ensures a peaceful environment for both guests and neighbours.

Supporting The Local Community Through The Short-Term Let

The council recognised that Auchentinny benefits the local community. Many of our guests visit nearby businesses, supporting the local economy. We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with guests praising the tranquillity of the area.

Councillor Craig Fotheringham expressed full support for our property. He mentioned that while Cairn Road is unadopted, it remains a through-road with minimal disruption. His comments reinforced the case for continuing our operation.

The Future Of Auchentinny And Short-Term Let Business

I’m thrilled that we’ve received a short-term let licence for the next three years. This licence allows us to continue providing high-quality service to our guests. The positive reviews confirm we’re meeting our guests’ needs. We’ll work hard to maintain this high standard.

Auchentinny offers more than just accommodation. It provides guests with a peaceful escape to explore the countryside. Whether for a weekend or a longer stay, we are proud to offer a quiet, comfortable retreat.
